Who we are

A local place to turn to when addiction affects your family

Orai Nasha Mukti Kendra is a rehabilitation centre located at 2470/B2, New Patel Nagar in Orai, Uttar Pradesh. We are here for people who are struggling with alcohol or drug use, and for the families who love them.

Many people find it hard to talk about addiction. There is often shame, fear of what others will think, or simply not knowing where to start. Our role begins with making that first step easier: a private conversation where you can explain what is happening and ask any question you have.

Being based in Orai means families from across Jalaun district can reach the centre, visit and stay involved, which can matter a great deal during recovery.

Our approach

A compassionate approach to recovery

Recovery is personal. What helps one person may not suit another, so we start by listening.

  • Listening first

Understanding the person and the situation comes before any suggestion.

  • No judgement

Relapse, denial and difficult emotions are all part of many recovery stories.

  • Families welcome

Families are welcome to ask questions and to stay involved in their loved one’s recovery.

  • Clear information

You will know what support is available so that you can make a confident choice.

Respect, dignity and privacy

Respect, dignity and privacy are not extras. They are where recovery begins.

Many families worry about what neighbours or relatives might say. You can call the centre directly, ask your questions in confidence and decide in your own time. You will never be pressured to share more than you want to.

Who can reach out

If you are struggling yourself

  • You can call simply to ask questions, with no commitment.
  • You do not need to have everything figured out.
  • Wanting to change is a strong and important first step.

If you are worried about a loved one

  • You can enquire even if they are not ready to talk yet.
  • Ask how to approach the conversation at home calmly.
  • Remember to look after your own wellbeing too.

Why it matters

Why seeking help matters

Addiction rarely improves on its own. Reaching out early can protect health, relationships and livelihoods. It is never too late to ask.

  1. It is a health condition

Dependence on alcohol or drugs changes how the body and brain respond. Willpower alone is often not enough, and that is nothing to be ashamed of.

  2. The whole family is affected

Worry, conflict and financial stress often spread through the household. Support can help everyone find steadier ground.

  3. Information reduces fear

Knowing what rehabilitation involves makes the next decision feel less overwhelming.

  4. Change is possible

People recover from addiction every day. With support, patience and time, a healthier life can be rebuilt.
